It seems obvious (to me with my cursory experience) that the H55f is just an H42 with an extra bit bolted on. I tried to see if I could find said bit but to no avail. As it is our cruiser adventure is taking yet another sharp turn. I’m getting a free B motor from @brianblack138 so we can enjoy the thing as it is before we’re dead. So now I guess I gotta start a thread about searching for the right clutch?
The shift pattern is different with reverse on the opposite side and the shifter cover is configurated different because fifth is external inside the longer adapter. The shift tower is also moved back. I have seen that George has 40 series top covers now. Because of this the transfer case is also farther back and depending on year the torque tube may be in the way if the parking brake is retained on the rear output. Drive shaft lengths are also affected. The H55F uses a crossmember for support. I used the crossmember and the motor mounts on the bell housing on my build.

The front of the box is the same as the H42 and bolts to a 2F or 3F bell housing.
