Hey im looking at an 89' toyota pickup with 5'' leaf sas already done it has a leaky steering pump and i can see 2-3 inches of drive shaft spline is it going to come apart flexed? does it need to be extended or is it supposta be like this?

The front DS will probably pop apart if you flex, but the rear should be OK. If you think about how the axle moves when it's drooping, the shackle becomes a hinge point, and as the spring arches the axle moves towards the fixed pin. So, in the front, the axle moves away from the t-case, causing the driveshaft to seperate, especially when you droop the passenger side tire (since the driveshaft is offset to that side). But in the rear the driveshaft is centered, longer, and the axle moves towards the t-case anyway when it's drooping, so it's not an assue.
