I managed to Sawzall and remove the spare tire on my 94 fj80, but the chain and lowering mechanism are rusted and corroded beyond repair, and the bolts are rusted to the mounting bracket. is it OK to just remove the whole spare tire mounting bracket? i see no other use for it. My trailer hitch is going on and it seems like that is just doing nothing beyond holding a spare tire which I don't want hanging under the best vehicle ever made anyways.
