Hi all,

Looking for some help on a replacement spare tire hoist.

A few years ago a picked up a 94 pick up. Not in amazing shape, but solid and runs well.

Well the spare was flat so I decided to swap it out. Unit was rusted to hell, so I actually snapped the connection point to the pulley off. Ended up cutting the cable, and buying a new spare on marketplace.

Well fast forward 3 years and I am tired of kicking the spare around in my garage. Figured maybe I should actually keep it with the truck. So spent an hour or so last weekend taking off the supports and drilling out the old hoist.

Got it out and now I need to replace the parts.

Found part number 51900-34010 which looks right. But it appears to be discontinued.

Anyone have any suggestions what spare tire hoist I can use? Or where I can source a decent used one? I also need the cross supports that hold the spare in place but I can fabricate those if I need to.

I see 51900-35390 is showing that it fits, but it looks like a chain style, and the one I pulled out was a cable style.

hoping mud can bail me out once again.

Thanks, I saw that one, that looks like it is for a 2WD. Mine is 4WD. I know the wheel Center Bore and PCD are quite a bit different. Does that matter?

Following up on how I resolved this for future reference to anyone experiencing the same issue.

Couldn’t find the cable style used anywhere. ( thanks for the tip on the guy in Arizona aztoyman)

I ended up buying the chain style 51900-35390 and hardware 90119-08667 (qty 3) from my local Toyota dealership so I could return them if it doesn’t fit. The holes in the frame needed slightly enlarged but I got it in with little issue.

My cross supports were completely shot. I used 1/8” steel and drilled a counter bore in it so I could mount with flat head screws. I used 2 stacked on each side for extra strength and thickness but that was because I had the steel laying around. Cut the a little longer then the factor supports (23”) and mounted them to the outer holes.

Worked fairly well and was over all pretty easy.

Thanks for the help guys
