So yesterday in prep to go to my first LCDC I wanted to lower my spare and make sure all is well. Good thing I did, it took me over an hour to lower the spare. Apparently my jack handle extension doesn't fit/engage in the winch hole or I'm doing it wrong. I resorted to pliers from underneath to lower the tire enough to get the place holder out. Can anyone point out what i did wrong or is the winch messed up. the winch spun freely but the extension didn't fit/engage in the hole ( insert joke here). Square peg in round hole.... If my part is wrong or messed up, does anyone coming to LCDC have an old one or a spare? They are $100 online and not sure if it'll be here in time. creative ideas also welcomed.

part number 51900-60322

did you use the t-end of the extension? It fits in there. Take a picture of how you had the handle assembled

nothing in my factory tool kit fit the hole in the winch once I removed it. I shall take a picture of the tool kit once home.

I tried tools 6, 7, 8 and I do not have part 9, that looks like it would have worked. Now to find tool number 9.... maybe my 100 series tool kit has it.

5, 7,& 8 are the handle and extension.
6 is for the jack.
9 is to release the spare.

The owners manual shows How to assemble.

I doubt anyone has a spare carrier holder. If you can’t repair your part then you can carry your spare wheel and tire in the cargo area or on your roof rack.

Awesome feedback guys. So I got home and I was right, didn’t have number 9. I rigged a temp solution until I can get a number 9 that Cole is apparently gonna hook me up with, much appreciated. Also after further investigstion it appears the hoist winch has been broken or removed before as one of the welded captured nuts had been replaced with a normal nut. Used car life and the mysteries they hold. My lx470 has a locking number 9 so it wouldn’t work haha.
