TLDR: cut the head of an adjuster bolt and can’t get it out. need help in Hollywood, FL
Hey guys, this is my second post here. I have a 2000 LC that i’m doing a suspension refresh on. the truck is from new jersey and very rusty. got a kit from dobinson’s and the last thing to go on is the torsion bars.
it’s been a major pain in the butt to remove these. i ended up sawing off the adjuster nut bolt in order to get the arm and the bar out. i was planning on ordering new mounts for the front and rear because everything is kind of rust welded in. my issue now is that i can’t get the remains of the bolt out of what it was screwing into.
Before cutting the head of the bolt off, i tried heating, breaker bar, 1/2 inch impact, breaker bar with a pipe extension, and i saw that the final threads on the bolt were rusted. I thought i’d just cut it out and go from there… Well now i’m there and I don’t know what to do. I can’t reach an angle grinder in there and I don’t have a sawzall blade long enough but I might just go get one and try that.
I wanted to ask if anyone had recommendations for a cut and weld company or someone who could help me get this bolt out. I’m in Hollywood, Florida. Thank you for reading!
