Sort of stranded, code 304, HELP!

The entire wiring loom that travels in parallel with the fuel rail had been sitting on the valve cover for 2 years. The gray circle plastic loom holders fell off couple years back. As a result, I believe that the injector wire ( close to the connector) and few others were basically burnt out.

The harness replacement shouldn't take any more than two to three hours. It is little tedious, especially on the T-Case and tranny. There are number of times I had thought about just dropping the drive train but I had been successful in resisting myself from doing that :).

I have been looking into many different kinds of insulation. The aluminum kinds are pretty good. Any thing to protect those wires from going bad would be my goal.

Thanks

any thought of extra wrapping the wiring harness? I was thinking with some exhaust wrap or something? Can be too sure IMHO.

I have been thinking about the exhaust/thermal wrap of some sort. Some kind of flexible heat resistant hose would work too I think. Not only the EGR valve area, also the firewall area where whole bunch of wires are sort of enclosed in a black plastic shell. That's where I had more deformed wires. Yes, this should be a "must" PM for any one who is having the similar issues. My only concern is, in the long run of course, what to do when Toyota does not make this harness any more, I wish that never happens but I am skeptical. Slee has a head light harness that is OEM caliber, if not better.
I wish some vendor would come up with a more durable engine wiring harness.

EDIT: Just did a google on "thermal wraps" and found whole bunch of solutions, one of the links below:
