Looks like you've got a really nice truck there - but every Cruiser I've ever owned gets crappy gas milage...just have to get used to it. You cant really compare the money TLC and CCOT get for their rigs in your pricing - it just doesn't happen in the rest of the world.

Sorry to hear you don't like it - Good Luck!

Tucker

BTW - you could do that $1k axle job in your driveway for under $250...

assuming I have a driveway, and had any tools, I live in apartments in Los Angeles, don't have the time/space to do that... even if I felt I could.

Road trip out to Iowa- I'll knock it out in a day for you. Bring parts and beer.

Keep the Cruiser & get another Audi! If you know Audis you'll come to appreciate Cruisers. My DD is a 91 200 20V Turbo Quattro (my 4th Quattro & 5th Audi) that's sat since I got my 84 FJ60 back with the 5.7 Vortec & 4L60E. My wife's DD is an 01 S4. She drives our 83 FJ60 once or twice a week until I get the 84 all sorted out & sell the 83.

Sourcemine,

I SECOND WILDABEAST60 ON THE USE OF SIMPLE GREEN -- DON'T DO IT!!!!! IT WILL CREATE RUST!!!

I can tell you from first hand experience as well that it promotes rust and have also done some research into this product. Without going into extreme detail, Simple Green contains a metasilicate (think silicate desiccant that ships with electronic products for the purpose of absorbing moisture) which is left behind in the residue after rinsing. Yes it will degrease effectively, but the corrosion it promotes in its wake is definately not worth it.

DON'T USE IT ON ANYTHING MADE OF FERROUS METAL THAT YOU VALUE. It's still great as a household cleaner but it will never touch any of my machines again.

Learned it the hard way,

Good point Sourcemine. Although not biodegradeable like the Green, there are commercial engine degreasers that are used in the trade that work amazingly well without creating the corrosion issue.

Check in with the boys at TLC or your local Toyota service department -- I'm sure either one would be able to point you in the right direction.

stone temple pilots eh? (noticed on your sirius??? looking radio deal in your LC pics) theyre pretty good...just how old are you, sourcemine?

A REAL good way to prevent rust on the underside of your truck is to drive down the freeway at 70 MPH with the oil drain bolt barely screwed on there....

Ask me how I know about that one!

Thats an XM commander, and I'm 25 in January.

I put this truck up for sale locally and I put in the forum for sale ads here and on pirate, not paying for cruiserz.net or whatever, and rockymountiancruisers the guy went away wont be back for another 2 weeks to throw it up on there.
