TRUCK HAS BEEN SOLD.
thanks for your interest everyone.
there are parts from several different years on the truck. the body is *mostly* 77. not sure what the roof is from, the rear hatch is older. the doors are old, but i have some late model ones i'll sell with it for a few extra bux.
the good. mechanicals. the 2f runs really strong. doesn't leak much(new cam plate seal, front seal, cam cover seal, oil pan gaskets). charging system is tops, good oil pressure, has a saginaw conversion, with the jeep 4 turn box. great brakes with new linings in the rear drums, the parking brake, and a couple new lines that i bent up to replace pinched ones. the parking brake/xfer case output shaft seal was replaced when i did the linings. new universals in the front and rear custom length driveshafts. trans is 4mt, shifts great. xfer works great. new oil in axles and both trans and xfer. i serviced the front axle, so it has all new seals and spindle bearings. the wheel bearings are in awesome shape. new poly bushings in all 4 springs, new poly bushings in all four shocks. good body mounts. really solid frame. skyjacker 3.5" lift. seats are decent. has two jumps, but only one installed. shoulder belts work. has a double-hoop bar that i was building, but haven't pulled the roof off to finish welding it as of yet. it has a pertronix ignition and coil. weber carb. header.
all the gauges work, speedo is great, but the odo is dead. i never cared much, so i didn't look too hard for a replacement. has the brighter CCOT cluster bulbs in, and the dash lights work. headlights and indicators work great. wipers are wired to only run on high, as the switch is strange. the wipers are new this last winter and still in good shape. it has two heaters, and both function. the switch is not stock, and is wired to control the relays which switch between high and low.
the bad: the bedliner. blech. not my choice. one of the patches on the drivers side by the rear well is coming apart. the holes for the rear hinges were filled in when the tub was patched up. there was no rear gate so i built one and bolted it in. it comes out with four bolts if necessary, but is not hinged. was in the plans, but that changed. some of the tin up front doesn't line up perfectly, as i don't think the tub was squared to the frame. it has a previously salvaged title in nebraska. i never cared about that too much, as i wasn't going for a resto truck, but a solid driver. the tub isn't great looking, but it is really solid. was built more for function than for form.
extras: i have another complete bar in the back, plus some extra kickers. some spare rear sheet metal with holes for the hinges that i was gonna use to fix that. i have a spare tire carrier. there are 4 wagon wheels with 32x11.5 bfg at's on them. i have 5 toyota factory split wheels. a bunch of misc spares. couple brake cyls, some odd fasteners. things of that sort. if you want the wagon wheels, i will keep the splits for when i get another fj or some other toyota truck.
there is also a tow-bar that we made for the truck that works like a charm. we pulled it about 400 miles last summer back and forth to an offroad park in the sandhills. you can pull it easily with a pickup, and it does tow very nice. i'll make sure and throw that in with the truck, if you need it. safety chains and towing lights included.
not interested in any trades right now, as i need to pay for a divorce and catch up some bills and such. i really need to sell soon, so please don't be bashful about dickering.
