So Im considering getting something fabbed for a different mounting approach. I would like to get something made that replaces the center pin mount and attach to the rail. I run the softtopper with sides rolled up 99.999% of the time so the factory button rail would be deleted. Just need to figure a way to secure the straps on the rear, I already have the rail on the rear of the truck bed and just can use the factory eyelets.

Thoughts?

can you fit a T nut in that rail?
Yup, I have them, just need to extend up a couple inches I suppose with the pin that goes into bars.

I suppose I could take the L bracket off with the pin, flip-it and use 2 of the t-nuts for that part, should be close.

I have the bed stiffeners as well I haven't installed for the rear anchor point.

ya. i guess you could just flip that bracket and keep from molesting the upright poles.

my first thought was to redrill the upright to catch the nut.
