Where did you wind up?

Miyaki Motorsports - i have recommended them to a few of my friends to work on 80s, 100s from swapping axles, rebuild lockers to engine overhauls with good results and very reasonably priced too
Agree with marco. Ryan at miyaki is very fair compare to others around the area. He been working on land cruiser 80s for a long time. I bought my first 1 from him. His shop is always filled with 80 100 4runner gx jeeps and occasional 200s.

RPM off road garage is a great choice. They are booked up so you might have to wait a few weeks but at least they call you back to set up an appointment.

I would also just call around and feel out the smaller mom n pop shops.

What are you looking to get done? I took my 100 series into a hole in the wall called 10-degrees automotive here in Corona for timing belt, water pump, front main seal, pulley's, tensioners, etc...

I called him on a friday and he told me to drop it off on Monday morning. had my car back Tuesday morning.

Sometimes you just need to pass on the more popular shops and find an old timer that knows their stuff.
Following on this? How was it? Pricing, service etc?

10 degrees shop that did my timing service was great. I also had them do a new steering rack and the owner gave me a few options based on how much I was looking to pay.

I would also reach out to RPM and YotaMasters. I was just speaking with the owner of RPM Steve and he said he is about 2-weeks out on appointments. So not bad.

They aren’t only for 80s, but are great shops
Thanks for the recommends, ...but Yotamasters. There's a thread on them, a while back they charged me a few hundred bucks to diagnose a drive line vibration I couldn't figure out. I had an old landtank driveshaft a friend let me borrow for them to test. 3 weeks later after the shop personnel drove during that time, told me verbatim. "It's your REAR driveshaft and toyota discontinued them, ...BUT you can order a custom one from us and we'll get it done"
I then asked them what about the LandTank DC that I provided to test. They said "It doesn't fit"

a week goes by and just stummped and pissed. Curiousity got the best of me and decided to swap the Landtank DC out. Driveline vibration, gone. FCK Yotamasters... Waste of time and dishonest. Currently have a Tom Woods DC and zero issues with vibration. Sorry for the rant but I saw yotamasters an had to comment.
