with my Holley 670 cfm, I got about 260 out of every tank, that is a mix of city, loop, and highway driving every tank. I just put an Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm on the other day, so hopefully it will be a little more now.
oh yeah, I have a Holley Street Avenger and an edelbrock intake manifold for a 87-95 SBC if anyone wants to buy em, the carb leaks gas in a few places (accelerator pump, and another small one in the back) but the intake was only on for a year, maybe 3000 miles, maybe. i'm thinking about 150 for both, obo.
dunno how it happened, but reset the trip odo. when i filled it up -and i really filled it, cause i didn't want to stop due to the non-operational clutch- and when i refilled again it was at 426. I do have a completely new top end, carb, and all the other junk that goes with it(maybe 10-15 thousand miles on it). and again it was alot of downhill downwind too. I'm sure that helped a ton.
I just drove my 60 a bit over 2600 miles on a trip from Colorado to Michigan and back over Thanksgiving. I kept track of my mileage, fill-ups, etc. and compiled them into a spreadsheet to see what kind of MPG I was getting. I was averaging around 15-16 mpg which gives me just over 300 miles per tank. Here's the list:
My math is probably not error free, but you get a general idea.
My 60 has a stock 2F with all smog equipment in place. A new Jim C carb and a recent tune up. I'm running 31's but I'm not sure how much that effects the mileage. (?)
The chart is broken into the trip there and the trip back. Notice the difference in my mileage coming back. The 60 starting running kind of rough (crumby gas I think) and the mileage on the return trip suffered. It was also much colder on the return and I was hauling extra weight. I had about 500 pounds of motorcycle parts in back.
The criteria weren't set up. You have all kinds of motors, mods and driving habits. A few mpg either way is going to make a 100 mile difference in tank capacity.

How the helllll are you all getting such high miles? 220-230 max and I'm running a pretty stock 60 out here in SOCAL with a 2.5 heavy OME front and rear on 31's. Always on time with oil and grease. I do have a bit of a rough Idle and a minor backfire on the down shift while going down hill. Any SUGESTIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!
