I'm leaving Ventura by 7 AM friday....hopefully. CB on CH. 4
For cheap gas in Ventura, going North( of course) on the 101, get off on the MAIN ST> exit. go one light to Mills and stay to the far left, turn left into the AM/PM gas station. It's always is the cheapest in town. You'll find yourself 50 yards from a Circle K if that coffee isn't what you like.
Then when leaving the gas station, head back the way you came in, go about 200 yards, (make a right turn leaving the gas station back onto Main St. )and the 101 North on ramp is a right hand 180 turn. [Go too far, and you'll drive under the 101 on Main]
I'd advise staying away from the Johnson exit unless you are mad about Carl's Jr. The return to the freeway is about 3 left turns and a complete hassle.
Seaward has gas too, but $$$. This is the exit if you want to Motel 6 it, or get an IN n Out burger.
x2 as E9999 said. you really want to be thru Camarillo by 4 PM on Friday night. If not, you're parked on the 101 all the way thru Ventura, and sitting in it till Goleta on a friday night. (Sure Camarillo is only 13 miles from Ventura, but it'll take 40 minutes.)
If ya take the 154 bypass in SB, hope you don't trail behind any toy hauler or semi, if you do, your 20 minute "short cut" won't be.
Atascadero is the Firestone Brewery location. (2nd exit I think) grub too.
Nipomo has Jocko's off of Teft St. exit to the right. Could possibly be the best steak house in the world for under 30 bucks. They aren't fast, but when you see the 28oz. Filet, you won't care. (I DID say 28 OUNCE!) It's a legend for the Central coast. Pismo is only a few miles after this place.
See ya there, if anyone wants any directions, let me know.
So SOCALFJ....still flaking out? it's worth the food tour and the wineries alone!
can you tell it's almost dinner for me?
