This is a good real world first impression. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. One thing to note, don't leave the remote in direct sun on the dash all the time. One issue I've seen is the remote being "cooked" when it's hot outside and the remote is left on the dash all day with the windows up.

Short update on my brand new SnoMaster CL61: I wanted a larger fridge/freezer for my LBZ and decided on the SnoMaster CL61. This is their 61 liter model but a lower height version. It arrived safely and securely strapped to an oversize (oversize for the size of the CL61) pallet via ABF truck freight. Although this shipping method is surely more expensive than UPS or FedEx it arrived without being turned upside down, boot prints on the box, crushed panels or worse: Damage to the fridge (like when I ordered a Dometic 95L unit earlier this year and it arrived destroyed via UPS).

Although it has only been keeping a full load of frozen food frozen solid for the past week I have zero regret about my decision to purchase the SnoMaster. Walls are a super thick 60mm. The lid is suitably thick, both of which are substantially thicker than my 12-year old Waeco CF51 and has a nice wide soft seal on the bottom side of the lid. The lid is so secure with such a tight seal one has to have both hands to raise the lid due to the vacuum hold.

The unit comes with a nice, small but adequately sized solar powered (USB port also included for charging) remote control unit that sits on my dash. I can instantly see charging & battery voltage, interior unit temp and also full remote control functionality. It also came with a nice insulating cover with a large #10 zipper. And three sturdy coated steel baskets to aid in keeping fresh produce from getting beat by bottles, cans, etc. And it has a drain for easy washout if/when necessary.

Todd at SnoMaster USA promised the new shipment of units are 15% more efficient and the temp deviation is +/- 2 degrees F. I've got mine set for 5 degrees F and it typically is keeping the readout between 2 and 7 degrees F. Also, the cooling grid is a top to bottom affair so little to no cold/warm spots (I haven't verified this yet).

Working with Todd at SnoMaster USA was a 5 out of 5-star experience! He kept me constantly updated on the ETA, etc.

Just a FWIW/FYI for those considering a SnoMaster.

Bringing an old thread back to life...

Just purchased the snomaster 12ltr Fridge/Freezer to use solely as a Freezer. I've had it plugged in for a couple of days now with a 6pk of small pooper type drinks as a test to see how long it would take to freeze... Well, it's been the beginning of day3 and it's yet to freeze the 6pk of fruit juice drinks. It's cold but not frozen. The fridge only goes down to -12degrees and checking what is the safest/best temp for freezing food safely and the temp that came up is at least -18degrees (0*F). Not sure if this is a big thing or not but being only a 12ltr fridge I would have thought it should have frozen the 6pk of drinks by now...

What have been other peoples experiences??

Rob

I have had a Snomaster Leisure Series LS35, basically the larger version of your 12L, for almost 2-years and use it primarily as a freezer; and it goes down to minus 6-7ºF and freezes anything to expectation.

Sorry... I should have mentioned that it only goes down to -12*C, where -18*C is what is classed as safe for freezing food.

I'll give it a few more days but it should have frozen what I've put in there...
