My 80 came with a 10k roadshock winch. I can't find out anything about it and it is also a horrible winch. Struggles to move my truck on flat ground. I have a xrc8 left over from a jeep. It probably has 3 pulls on it and is about 4 or 5 years old. The smittybuilt sat on the jeep outside for 3 years unused. It no longer works. My questions are is the 8k winch good enough for an 80 and how should I go about fixing it?

Do the sums 1.5 times weight of vehicle fully loaded up a 45 deg slope and you should have 12,000lb winch in front.
