Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a question about the Smittybilt tent. I have a VW Sportwagon and have purchased VW base bars and the small Overland tent. I put the mounting bars on the tent bottom and tried to mount it on the racks. My problem is the base bars are 3 inches to narrow. Does anyone think there would be a problem moving each mounting bar on the tent in 2 inches ?

Have a Smitty RTT.........

wouldn't see a problem...

meaning though you'd have to re drill new holes in floor for the mount rail ?

The tent cross bars can go perpendicular to the roof rack cross bars. The tent can open in 2 different configurations. Hope that helps.

Or yeah, you could redrill the holes in the base of the tent.
