I couldn't have attached them to the Cruiser. The outriggers reach straight out from the frame to the slider. The Cruiser body comes down over the frame, whereas the Xterra design is such that the body floats above the frame. Not only that, but the length of the body pinch is much longer on the Cruiser. I've always assumed I could just build out some straight outriggers and go to town...but damn, I got shot down on that. Makes things a touch more complex, that's for sure.


Yep, the frame and body of the 80 makes sliders a little more involved. I thank george for his awesome plans and allready addressing this for me when i started.

A small body lift would do the same for the slider angles, as a bonus add wheel well clearance and room for the exhaust to go over the frame without cutting the rockers?
 
Good point Kevin, I have also remotely considered a body lift.

The added bonus of wheel well space is nice too.

However, it is much more involved to install and interferes with many systems, whereas chopping the rockers only affects one thing.

Price is right on chopping rockers too.

Maybe I'll end up with both :D I really like where my suspension is at, do not want to play with that for awhile.
