Need a little help. I just picked up a 2007 FJC and the previous owner took the sliders off. I have the sliders but not the mounting bolts.

Does anyone know what size bolt I need to re-attached the OEM sliders?

Been a while since I replaced my sliders, but IIRC the bolts are 13 or 14mm hex-heads, M8 x 1.25 thread pitch, and about 35mm long. Be sure to use Grade 8 or better bolts and washers and lock washers.
 
i just went through this also. 1911 is correct. M8 x 1.25 thread, 35mm use lock and regular washers. metric grades are 8.8 and 10.9 i could only find 8.8 locally but i am ordering grade 10.9 grade 8.8 will be plenty for OEM rock rails (versus aftermarket tube sliders)
 
Thanks for the info.

I ordered a set from my local dealer and what arrived was definitely the wrong size. They were 2 to 3 times the diameter of the threaded hole in the frame.
 
Just go to your local hardware store and you'll find what you need for a lot less $$.
 
And I would think that Grade five would do the trick, although I think I'd go with Stainless if it's an option at your local hardware store.

Hey guys, as a former truck and foreign car mechanic, I'd stay away from S/S bolts as they will not rust but don't have the tensile strength of grade 5 or grade 8. I'd suggest using "Never Sieze" and you will get the strngth you need and they will never sieze up in the hole in your lifetime!

Got the bolts from NAPA for the rock rails and rear trailer hitch.

I always use anti-seize. No I'm not a mechanic, just an old idiot who still turns wrenches on 30+ year old rusted foreign vehicles and learned a long time ago, if you don't use anti-seize, you'll curse the time you didn't.

This working on "new" stuff is different.

ditto on stainless, most are about a grade 2 and are also prone to galling especially if overtorqued
 
I was at the dealer getting my FJC serviced and my parts guy calls me over and hands me a bolt kit for the sliders.

He said a separate part number does not exist but he was able to get me the bolts.
