Any one here build/see/have a sleeping platform set up in the cargo area of their pigs? I know the 60 series guys have a few ideas and designs, but I can't find anything like that specific to 55s. I want to build something for my rig and was hoping that somebody here had some pics they could post up. Thanx!!!

Not yet... but I've been thinking about making one too. :)

I like to check out what the other Cruiserheads have designed and built in the 60's, 80's, and Expo forums. There are some great examples out there. Hopefully folks will post up here as well. I'm interested in scavenging someone's else's ideas also!

There were a bunch of ideas in the 60 section. I'm sure that the 55 versions would not be much different. I'm gunna go take some measurements and make some drawrings.

I agree. Funny... I've drawn up some ideas and taken measurements as well. Of course, I haven't done anything else about it though. :)

Would love to see what you come up with. I always planned on the typical platform with a couple drawers below. Made of wood. I have an old Norcold fridge I plan to mount on the platform as well. Would love a slide for the fridge eventually. I thought about a removable section for the rear seat area and a section that you leave in the cargo area all the time. Would like to hide radio amp as well in it... Not much more than that.

I'm pretty sure that eventhough built one in his rig recently. You should check his build thread.

I've been thinking of re-working our pig now that it's just the two of us.

will keep checking this thread for ideas

i had a storage box in the back for years, when i removed the rear seat i added a sheet of ply with a piano hinge so that i could fold it to sleep on, worked great until i bought a fridge. i took the fridge out for sleeping for a while, then i cut out the section of platform so i could leave the fridge in, worked great solo. when the wife came with me someone had to sleep a little crooked, not bad, but i would say a full platform is best.
