Tyler met us at the ride and drive. We were able to successfully avoid the crowds and all of their antics. We were not able to get down to Doane pond due to a downed power line but hopefully we can get there next time. We had to settle for the parking lot overlooking the west with a view to the ocean. The kids had fun sledding around the hills leading to the parking lot but Doane has the best sledding.
There is the snow line.
Once we reached it was instant winter wonderland.
The way up was smooth but we ran into a few jeeps working to clear the tail of a downed tree.
This created the first opportunity for the kids to play in the snow.

Excellent snatch blocking on Tyler's part helped the lead jeep get the tree mostly to the side. As more help stacked up we all just pushed it the rest of the way.
And we were off..
