I'm looking for a simple 1/2 day trail near Moab I can go and just take in the scenery with the family. (In mid March). I'm heading back to UT on a family Road trip and want to get off the beaten path, but not boulder. I have a stock 2004 Lx 470. Any suggustions?

White Rim Trail should be doable in a stock 100. Just a couple spots you will need to pick your lines carefully. Either one long day or better taken/seen over 2-days; make sure you make your campsite reserves.

 Oooops...didn't see your "1/2 day..." requirement. Agreed: Get the Guide to Moab...many 1/2 day adventures there for sure.

Buy the Moab Trail book............Schaffer Switchbacks are amazing.

Tiptoe Behind the Rocks is good too.

Willow creek in Arches NP and the Schaffer Trail in Canyonlands are great. Fine for stock and great views.

I really recommend This Wells guide.

Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails (2nd Edition) [978-1-934838-00-6] - $27.95

If you buy direct from their site you can get the spiral binding.

Fins and Things is another good one. They have white lines painted on the rocks so you can't loose your way.
