Simple handheld GPS for old fashioned people...?

My dad is thinking about getting a GPS, his main use would be tromping around in the woods looking for old mines and cabins etc. Something with a decent screen for viewing maps, a waypoint or path tracking option, and a very simple interface for a guy that would rather have been born in the early 1800's. Thanks for any help or pointers!!!!

I would say Garmin, brandwise. Much better overall than Magellan IMHO.

I'm very happy with my year old Venture CX but it has a smallish screen. Middle of the road level.

Garmin 72 or 76, the BW's are on sale now and they are easy to use.

x2 on the Garmin. However, I would recommend the new eTrax series.

I don't know if I know any more than the next guy, but an eTrax is what I'm planning on buying for myself and for my dad (who sounds a lot like your dad!).
