Hey folks I hope you all are well rested after the crawl and have the rigs back in condition for a ride with the Bayou Boys next month. I blew out some frame bushings, and injested plenty dust but other than that the rig faired well. I hope you folks can make it over for what should be a good weekend and I look forward to seeing you all again. We'll treat you to a big gumbo so bring your appetite and we'll introduce you to the best spread Louisiana has to offer for trails and the potential for a big event next year.

Our thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?p=2659225#post2659225

Here is the details.

Drive time is 3 1/2 hrs from Lafayette, It'll be 2 - 2 1/2 from Jackson.
Price is $25 for the day, $30 for the weekend. $5 for additional passengers.
There is a camp ground accross the street they do have a shower house and full hook-ups for a few campers. I have 5 slots reserved at the campground which most of us will be in tents so we can share the power and water.

Looks like a blast. Larry, It's on my calender, keep me posted. We will talk it up at the crawl and get our crew over there for Nov.

We could make a really nice trip down the trace and catch yall for the last bit of the caravan up from Natchez:

Google Route

Damnit, I can't swing it. I got in on the CO/UT Trail Team Expedition the week before. I can't do both.

Yall will have a blast, I know. Time to step up Rednecks, the coonasses showed up en force to our ride! Return the favor.

Sorry to hear that Greg but I sure understand how that goes. Have a great time and we'll see you on the next trip.

thanks. looks like an interesting area. any fishing nearby?

Yes sir, there is a boat launch in the camp ground. We haven't tried the fishing but the owner says there is some damn good fishing there. Maybe be a good place to start the mornings before the ride. I may throw a pole in the truck as well. :)

The campground was basically built for fishermen. There is a landing at the backside of the campground that puts you into the Bouef River. From there, you can access some good backwater fishing for bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish. The Bouef then feeds into the Ouachita River where there is even more accessible waters with some really great fishing.

I'm thinking about strapping the canoe on top of my rig to test the waters in between cooking and wheeling.

Sounds pretty cool. I'm still sorting my thanksgiving break plans out.

would love to be there but leaving on Thanksgiving holiday Sunday,

Just not enough time.:crybaby:

Not sure just yet, however, it sounds like one I don’t want to miss. I will do my best to be there, when is the latest we can sign up and still have room to camp? Thanks for the invite!

They'll be plenty room for camping if your in a tent we reserved 5 slots that we can share water and power off of. There is only 10 camp sites in the campground with utilities but plenty room for much more. If it looks like we'll have folks coming in RV's and trailers I'll reserve a site just for them. If those people will just put there name down here in the thread that needs a site for their Rv or trailer I'll get it done. I hope we get enough to reserve all 10 and then some :D

And you can fit about 2-3 tents at least on each slot with electric hook ups. So you can probably put about 15 tents on just the 5 Larry reserved. Then there is camping on the ORV park (primitive) plus a LOT of land all around the campground that we can sprawl out onto, much like we did at Grayrock.

Minus the rocks to sleep on. :D

Say yes and he'll bring the buggy! Hey Nolen, let's put em both on the trailer and go down. I'll split the diesel.

I think we can find a little something for everyone here, if your disappointed I feed you enough gumbo and beer to make up for it. :D

This was the biggest and nastiest built rig there on our last trip and he said he found several trails that made him work pretty good.

Sorry to say I didn't have any good pics of the real rocky trails as we didn't have anyone capable enough of running those trails in our group but I think we can find you something to play on. :D

Grogan, you must take this hill or sell your buggy and live in your tent.
