Seems like it uses a lot of space for a shower that does not even heat the water.

It does take up a lotta space, and the one I posted a few years back that I bought takes up less room and heats the water.
Very happy with it, an I highly recommend it.

easy to DIY. I'd choose a very different form factor though. As in a self-warming black tank on the roof with gravity feed.
