should I go with 8" or 10" sub bracket...does either work well enough to bother?

etarasoff: [this in reference to the Pioneer TS-WH500A] ...that sounded like a perfect fix to me for some pain-free, moderate bass, but I chased down the dimensions and she won't fit: 14"x9.4"x3"--the 3" height fits tight floor to seat, but the 9.4" is a no go between the rails (the Kicker has the same dimensions). I don't know, headphones and a nice tube amp & let the passengers hum?
Bummer. There are a few others like it, though. Maybe the Kenwood one might fit? Or the Soundstream?

I'd even consider mounting the Pioneer all-in-one behind the rear plastic panel ... up top behind the speaker grille if you have a Toyota, or down lower behind the vent slots if you have a Lexus.

Eric: you just saved me some money...the Kenwood KSC-SW11 measures 2.75"x7.5"x11"....it fits under the seat!

Did you have one in mind?
This is what I was thinking but it's 7 years old now.

That's one way to do a stealth install? Strap a big silver boom box to your chest. Big style and no intrusion into the cargo area. Win win.

For sure but you can't see it behind the panel and it sounds 5x better than factory sub. I got a couple used units off fleabay for $50ish each. I mounted One on each side. Now it sounds 10x better than factory.
