Shifting Problems, Gimme Some Ideas

Scenario-

Start the truck in the morning with clutch pushed in..
Let out clutch while in neutral and it feels like I just put a wood chipper in gear. Motor dies down bigtime, but then resumes normality as it warms up

Goes into gear fine when engine off.

Clutch does not slip.

I find myself having to shift like i'm driving a dump truck. Waiting for the RPM's to fall off in order to shift smoothly.

I fear shifting forks and tranny problems, but am hoping I can adjust the slave

Problem? Suggestions?

Is this a new thing from this winter? How heavy an oil are you using? Just throwing something easy out there.

It seems to be getting worse.

New 80W90 about six months ago.

Sounds like the input shaft bearings are bad... It's probably just going to get worse...

That sounds like a very good answer that I didn't really want to deal with. There is also a little more whine i've noticed and a slight vibration when i'm almost to a stop.
