Hi,

I am restoring my interior on my 1996 and about to purchase the shift indicator strip with PRND2L, not the full housing but the actual strip inside the housing. Toyota has 2 part #'s one for the 1991-1995 around $20 and one for 1996-97 near $70.

Is there an actual differnce? It's killing me to pay that much for such a small piece... Anyone know if there is truly a difference?

Thank you very much...Interesting the one with 1 less gear indicator is $50 more.

Pisses me off

Yes, I ended up paying the money for the correct one. My 1996 requires the more expensive one whcih sucks but everything is new so I wanted that to be new as well. Mine started to flake as soon as I touched it whcih is why I needed one.

Check the for sale section as there are plenty of guys scrapping all years and selling parts. Second choice would be checking the local bone yards. Check Car-part.com. Something like that is going to be very low demand and I'm sure relatively cheap. You could by the entire shifter for less than what the dealer charges.

Thanks for the suggestion..Toyota no longer makes this part and there are none available even for the LX450(same Part#). I have setup a WTB in the classifieds hoping to fing a nice clean one.

Thanks

Ended up getting the last one available from Toyota...looks very nice with the rest of the parts

Thanks for helping out
