I recall the 4000 40th # as well

I found #0239. I've was wondering how many 40th's were out there....4000? I didn't think there were that many.

If it matters, my 80 is in the 3700's. I can find out for sure if anyone is interested. I guess that means I'm near the end of the production run. I hope that means I got the new head gasket.

'means you need a new head gasket....:D:

Um, hyjack about to happen here........:flipoff2:

Did you do the heater pipes in the 60 yet?

D-

Could also mean that you're only near the end of the production run of the plaques. Comparing the VIN of an early numbered truck against yours would offer some insight.

Good to see you are back Dan, because now I need some more stuff! I got back last night from the Rubicon where I broke the short side rear axle on my FJ40. I'll send a PM with the details.

So as not to hijack the thread, Todd makes a good point that the badge # may not correlate with the production order, though this seems like the type of trivia that Willem-Jan Makerinck (spelling disaster, sorry) seems to love on the 80's list. If anyone is interested, I would contribute my badge #, my production date, and vin but I don't think it matters that much. Just knowing that I'll be in the headgasket club one day is enough.

Bump back up....Anybody ever find out how many actual 40th's were produced?

(I need some silicon implants on this rig. ;p )

I thought 4000 were made as well but mine says #4850 so maybe its 5000, hard to believe that many 40ths were made??????

I've got a green one. #100 on the dash plaque.

Todd,

Funny you say that. I wondered about that when I was in your truck. Now I know!

BTW, great action shot of your rig in the Trails. I am glad it made it in!

Mark

From what I recall there were 5000 made.

I think there was a dude on the 80 list that claimed to own the 4994 or something close to that. Can't remember.

Jim Reiss dressed her up for me. I don't mind, gives people one more reason to make fun of me.

Thanks for sending that shot in. Charlie wanted it on the cover, I didn't know how well that would go over so I vetoed the idea.

Whoever was supposed to get #2157 is not happy....

Mine is # 2859. When I was looking I drove a non locked cracked leather one in Boulder that was #0127. Thanks Junk for the unverified knowledge. I had heard rumors of 5500 so it is fun to try and narrow it down to fact. BTW the Nissan dealer in Boulder that had the #0127 one was trying to tell me that there was only 250 of them....I told him I have seen a couple in the 2k range and he tried to tell me those wearn't "Limited Editions." Fricken salesmen are all the same....take a thimble full of fact and make it into a mountain of Bull****!
