Looking for a build date for my engine SN: 1158989

good luck ive searched high and low and cant seem to find a way to get a build date by the serial number

I had the same problem, the only way I've been able to get a rough build date for my 12ht is by searching the part number on the injection pump. Assuming its the original pump...

There is usually a date code on Toyota engine blocks & heads. The normal Toyota format is YMMDD. Here's a 1HDFT block, showing 71121, so a year ending in 7 (1997), Nov. 21st.
