The weekend started off weird when I got to Steve's. His truck was in the muffler shop which set us back an hour or two. After getting on the road, we came to realize that the Sea to Sky highway sucks Sh_t! We arrived in Pemberton around 3pm and to our surprise, Glenn and Garry where still there waiting (4hrs). We headed off and went through the Hurley Pass to Gold Bridge, filling up (1.30/ltr) and then off to Mowson Pond. Didn't like it at first (accessible by car) but after a couple of great nights, it is a nice place to base-camp. After 30 minutes or so at the camp, Robert and Roman rolled in advising us that Aaron got lost somewhere.

So, Saturday morning we set of to look for Aaron and exploring the Gold Bridge / Bralorne area. We stopping for a few minutes Gold Bridge while Roman tried to find some worms. When we got to Bralorne, we split up, one group to the Bralorne Mine and the other towards Pioneer Mine. Still no sign of Aaron. After the mines we stopped for a moment at Kingdom Lake, pretty but very crowded. Now it was time to head back to camp.

Sunday the plan was to go to Mud Lake and do a "loop" back to camp. On the way we ran into Pavel and he informed us that there was a guy named Aaron at Mud Lake. So after chatting awhile, we took off for the lake. Robert, Roman and Pavel turned around and headed for home. Aaron was all happy to see us, we told him to pack his gear and we would be back in a few minutes. We looked around the Mud Lake area (once again, very crowded), then turned back to get Aaron. After deciding to go back to camp things started to go alittle wrong. Steve's daughter felt car sick. So Steve, Aaron and I waited a few minutes for her to get better. Garry and Glenn had no communication equipment at this time, so they were still going. After we hit the road again I realized we were not on the right road for getting back to camp. So we just kept going, knowing this road would end up at Carpenter Lake somewhere and it did (25km from camp). Started to get worried about Garry and Glenn. They were 15min in front of us and not in camp when we arrived. After getting back to camp it was about 30min before Glenn got back and told us where they had gone, then he left to go catch his ferry. Another 25min go by and Garry finally gets into camp (he went to Gold Bridge). Aaron set up his gear and we settled in around the fire (light rain). To our surprise, Aaron found his way to Mud Lake without a map or GPS. There are alot of turns, forks and side routes.

Sunday we packed up and found out that Garry had a partial flat tire (12lbs). He opted to not change it and drive to Gold Bridge for air. Then he was heading down the Squamish side. Hope he made it. Steve, Aaron and I finally pulled out of camp at noon and headed to Lillooet. Beautiful drive. I don't know how long the Squamish side would have taken, but this route took 7hrs (with stops). All in all a very would weekend.

Great trip to those who made it. A special thanks to Robert for leaving his chainsaw.

Sound like an interesting trip, I've heard stories from Robert about it too. have not had a chance to look at the pics properly but it looks cool. So this is the second trip in a row that Aaron has been "misplaced" - somebody put a leash on the guy please! Well I think we have to make a little rule to our off-roading trips, those without CBs, maps, or an idea where we are going, should be in the middle and the guy in front of them has to wait up until they catch up. All jokes of me not being on the recent trips aside, this is not a bad idea. At least everyone survived and not drowned their truck in a lake - right? I hope I can make it to the next one.

It's not really a rule, it's just good wheeling practice. And was the only way to go back in the day when we were poor and couldn't afford CB's

Thanks for the report and that area looks like a great area to further explore.

After the quick change of plans my weekend was watching the 1st season of ROME with Petra, some minor work on the RTT and finally Bins of Poo.

where does the fridge go ?

Ya I was totally unprepared and late to boot! My appologies to the crew. Yes I do need a leash Matt, more than a noose. I will post the pics of our wheeling adventure, the transfer case did get to be put in 4 lo . Special thanks to Robert for meeting us in Pemberton. Remember the 4cyl cant keep up to 6cyl on the uphills he he he ! Craig , Steve, Gary and Glen thanks for finding us I was running out of things to talk about.

where does the fridge go ?

Where do the kids go?

Funny guys...

Fridge? Dunno...easy to screw into the platform wherever I want the base. I left it in the BJ74 for now. At this point most of the wheeling Poo see's is local, where an ice block will do.

Kids? TaaDaa...

Front bed section removed and seat up...

Only real bad part of this setup (other then the simple bush league design) is the limited storage ability for the front section. It has to go on the roof if the rear seat is up.

12psi, What's up

When I got to Goldbridge the tire that had lost half it's pressure was still at 12psi

I put it back up to 24 and checked it every half hour

It has never lost any pressure since (Now back to 38)

My off camber adventures with Glen must have almost pulled the tire off the rim, I guess I was lucky. Stock tires don't measure up
