Just posting up a bunch of pictures of our long weekend trip where we did the quesnel canyon loop, over to barkerville, did a little exploring, over yanks peak to likely, then back along an old road (4x4 trail) along the south side of the Quesnel river to quesnel.
Buddy Kim and his wife moved down to PG, so me and another buddy adam, big bronco went down there to do the Alexander Mackenzie trail, but due to fires in the area went to barkerville and area instead.
Enjoy.

quesnel canyon is just like our local trail up here mud creek, but the yanks peak trail is an old wagon trail, which has eroded big time even since the last time i was up there 5 years ago, and definatley worth the drive.

Spent friday on the trail into quesnel canyon, night there, wheeled all day sat, camped near barkerville, did yanks peak to likely and started into the quesnel river road on sunday, camped on the river, and then had to pull the yellow bronco out of the trail all the way into the first quesnel pub where we had a few strawberry dackeries and lunch as we waited for Kim to head back to grab my truck and trailer from PG (yes my truck was a trailer queen from FSJ to PG) on monday.

Lots of old gold rush history up here and even people up mining up there right now, there were a few pretty cool things to see there, like all the piles of rocks, hand picked out of so many creeks, the old cabins, and some of the old crazy roads in the area. most trails would be easily done by stock trucks, but still pretty fun for built up trucks.
Cheers,
Deny

He must have missed it when you said you went to find a pub to have some fruity drinks :flipoff2:.
Looks like a nice area up there.
I didn't even get to use 4wd on my long weekend roadtrip.

Yeah I don't know why we had them, I think it just came up cause we were so dirty and looked like scrubbers from the long weekend of camping, Figured we would get a good laugh from the waitress;) I stuck to the monday special drink after that the hurtin curtin.

Oh and I actually pulled out two broncos, I pulled the full size out of the tippy mud hole that adams girlfriend amanda drove into.
