Looks like a great weekend to get out.

I will be making this run, but may head out/home through Gunnison rather than back over Cottonwood pass as many do. Camping was also mentioned in the planning meeting so let me know if you can make the run and your thoughts on camping.

I am also undecided about heading over on Friday night, or getting after it early Saturday morning.

Thanks,

David

Yeah, its a good drive.

What's everyones thoughts on departure time and camping?

We can meet up at the gas station near Woodland Park, like normal, or do something else.

Yes. Nothing difficult unless you want to do the old Tincup bypass- a short short and rocky section. I plan on staying at Mirror lake to fish before heading back.
I'm good with that. I have a goal of catching at least one fish this year. So, if we leave the Alta gas station off of 24 (20421 E, US-24, Woodland Park, CO 80863) at 730, it will take us at least two and a half hours to get to Saint Elmo.

Jeff from Pueblo West is planning on making this trip. If we go through Canon City we can meet him and anyone else from that area at the Walmart in Canon.

I may actually have to meet closer to St. Elmo as I may camp tomorrow night somewhere over there.

In order to get to St.Elmo at 10am along with meeting in Canon City I would think you would have to leave the Springs about 7am arriving at the Walmart in Canon City about 8am.

You going to traverse 5 or 6 passes in one day like we did a few years ago?

Have a good time.

So the plan so far...
- Colorado Springs Departure @700-ish from the Safeway on S. Nevada (1920 S. Nevada)
- Canon City Departure @800-ish from the Walmart in Canon City. ( 3105 E, US-50, Cañon City, CO 81212)
- St. Elmo at 10-ish.
