-First order on agenda was Cruiser Days 2006. Most agreed that it was well done, however the event was not advertised enough. Next year we expect to advertise in local newspapers. A committee was formed to improve next year’s event. The committee is : Rod McD, Steve T, Marcin C, Rob M, Mat R, & Bill W. The club this year was up $400. after all Cruiser Days expenses. Rob M suggested a new location for Cruiser Days 2007 at a park near Deas Island. The committee will look into it. Also thanks to Rob M for donating the electric winch out of his own pocket.
-Next item was Rock Sliders. Drew has new twin tube sliders from All Pro in the U.S. and cost about $250. - $300. U.S. funds. The shipping is about $50. plus GST.
-Third item was 2007 Land Cruiser calendars. Rob Millson will contact Rob Mullen. We counted about 20 wanted at this meeting. We need to know who else wants one.
-Fourth item was this year’s Christmas Party. We decided on December 16 and people were pretty happy with the Elephant & Castle in Richmond again. Bill W will contact them for availability, costs, and room rates. Meanwhile, if anyone has a better location in mind, contact Steve T.
-Next was an upcoming day run at Mt. Cheam in Chilliwack on October 1. About 5 members were interested and we proposed meeting at Ricky’s Restaurant on Vedder Road in Chilliwack for breakfast, possibly around 9:00 a.m. that day.
-New CC members are Mike D, Tacia C, Robert C, and Kim R. Kim won the 50/50 draw at Cruiser Days, lucky guy.
-We have a new meeting place for future meetings now. It is at 81 Moray St. in Port Moody and is half a block from the Toyota Dealership on St. John’s, and across the street from the Dairy Queen. This location is Steve T’s new warehouse. Dinners will be a 6:00 pm at the Golden Spike Pub nearby.
-The topic of cargo netting came up again and Gary T will again ask his contact if we can get a good price on some.
-The raffle had $150. worth of prizes this time, thanks to a generous $50. donation from Rod McD.
First prize was won by Martin S, a tool box and he later won a power screw driver.
Mike N won a set of wrenches and also the safety harness donated by Marcin C.
Rob M won his very first LED headlamp and later also got the laser pointer and LED minilight. Craig E got the lantern, Rob C the Toyota cooler bag, and Bill W got the sub woofer and electronic crossover donated by Mat R.
-The meeting ended early at 8:30 because the Hume Park gates were about to be closed. One by one the motley thundering Cruisers blasted off into the dark night, while overhead, flocks of Canadian Geese honked southward on their annual migration to s*** on the park lawns of California and Mexico.
