Thanks to everyone for all the opinions and experience sharing. I appreciate the input! I'm now leaning towards building a 60/62 before I sell the 01 100 to make sure I don't regret selling the 100. Thanks again!

Sbechtold,

Sold my 60 series and moved up to a 98 100. Wouldn't think of going back. Love the comfort and reliabilty. Oh yeah, I can get up to 60 mph getting on the freeway in under 2 minutes too.

I was out wheeling in Death Valley a while back and a guy in a 60 series just like my old one pulled up and asked what I was doing out there in a 100? answer: "Same as you , but probably enjoying the ride a bit more."

Keep the 100 !

...Now THATS a Land Cruiser !!

Friggin U.S. market...I would buy one in a heart-beat if both the vehicle AND parts were readily available here !!

Actually, 95% of the parts I've ever bought for this come from the Ontario CA warehouse. The only time I had to source parts from Japan or OZ was when I did the AC conversion...Most regular service parts I can get from any local Toyota dealer

DB:

Do you have a 3B? US parts due to the commercial/Canadian presence of that engine? Just wondering if it would be the same if it were a 1HZ or something else that never made the NA market. Im thinking its basically the same as the Isuzu (4JB1 etc) situation, but Im curious for Toyota.

Thx

Alac,

Yes, I still have the 3B-T in there....parts for the 3B and the 1HZ are pretty readily available (if you know where to look for them). Engines like the 12HT, 1KZ etc are harder to get parts for because as you mentioned, the 3B & HZ have a commercial presence in NA while the others don't. Sorry to have kinda hi-jacked this thread:)
