Hey--first post here. Just picked up an '85 mini EFI 4x4. Have had a few things I've needed to do to get it by inspection and to keep it running--most recently was a seized water pump. Yesterday had 'er in to the shop for a check and apparently my parking brake pivots are seized. Brake seems to engage/disengage just fine and doesn't seem to be affecting the truck while driving. I'm looking for a little more information regarding these pivots. I didn't find much in the FSM--if anyone has a bit more information that would be great.

Going to be doing the HG, timing chain and a few other things pretty soon here. Just trying to check things off the list...Can't complain too much since it's a $400 truck!

Welcome to Mud! :flipoff2: Hehehe

Yes... a pain... best to get new brake shoes and wheel cylinders and just do it all at once... (only do one side at a time so you have a reference for putting the other side back together...) And we're gonna need pics.....

a hammer and lots of pb blaster for a temporary get it to pass quick fix. and yes, we need pix, its a small price to pay for our mechanical advice.
