My guess is that if this guy knew what he doing then he would know what its worth. I would probably say that its a beater. i agree $1200-$1600 max. sentimental value means nothing to me. I would be pretty hard pressed to pay that for an 89 with a bunch of stuff wrong with it. Keep looking more for something closer to stock. at least then you know that only the normal things are wrong with it. seals, rust etc.
Sounds like the seller is a moron and the truck a POS.
An ad like that where the seller can't spell right, and there are no pictures to even go with, I wouldn't even be interested. He might be legit, but sounds like a few people have already looked at it and turned him down because of the quality.

Thanks guys, he sent me pics of the truck and mentioned that it doesn't have a front shaft only ear shaft so I'm thinking if the 4x4 really works , I'll probably pass on this. Thanks everyone.
I paid 1500 for my yota. I still feel like I got ripped off cuz the engine knocks like it's about to blow. But other than that it's a damn good truck
