Did this trail this summer, was super fantastic. The obstacle above is called the steps it is a 1 way trail you can only go down. One of the Jeep tours PINKY told me it is a 5.5 trail and inorder to go up it you have to use a winch (yeah right the FJ would go right up it no prob). If you are in Northern AZ I highly recommend doing this trail the scenary is unbelievable.

The pinky "drivers" are not the best source for info!:D Fun trail, but the traffic can be brutal sometimes.

now i know your new to the state, or maybe wheelin,, or both;)

Not new to the state or 4 wheeling just posting pics for people who don't know about it, no need to burn brother. Just hadn't (until this summer) had time to explore the northern regions. Definatly too much traffic on trail, that's a roger good buddy.

So we did this last spring. It was a rather weird 'wheeling outing: If you like to go 'wheeling to get away from it all, then this is NOT the trail to be on. Narrow trail, lots of traffic, pushy PinkJeepTours drivers that are pissed at everyone else on the trail, because if you drive yourself, you're cutting into someone's paycheck. The red rock part is 'Moab-lite'. Maybe there should be traffic lights?

Do traffic laws apply on the trails? I know insurance doesn't consider any damage that occurs offroad something that they should cover...

Could we just push the pink jeeps with ARB bumpers?

Does anyone know the exact directions to the trail head? Is there a place to park a tow rig and trailer? From what I've heard (and seen while visiting Sedona years ago), you head east at the little black sign with white letters that says "broken arrow". As I recall, this sign is just south of town if you're heading north on 89A. I've heard you just turn there and follow the road til it turns to dirt. That's where the trail starts.

Is this correct?

TIA,
Sean

I've been on Broken Arrow quite a bit lately and I was metioning how nice the Pink drivers seem to be now.

It could be a couple of things:

1. I'm pretty sure they're on their best behavior because they don't want any complaints from us regulars because their business is in jeapordy. They're the only ones allowed on the trail now and recently they've been limited to only 5 Jeeps on the trail per hour.

2. Maybe, because I've been doing the trail in the Jeep? Nah- twice it was in the 80. Must be the first reason.

You remembered well. Morgan Road is marked by the Broken Arrow sign. There's no parking there for your trailer. No parking is allowed on the road either due to the residences. You could park in the Village of Oak Creek and drive to the T-head.

I'm in an uninsured, no plate buggy....how far is the trail head from the Village of Oak Creek?

TIA,
Sean

Just run it in the tow rig, it would be a total cake walk in the buggy!:D

you mean your wheelin illegally ??? bad boy.:flipoff2:

How ya figure? It's only illegal to be on a public roadway....not the trail. So technically, running the trails is perfectly legal and as I've been stopped on the fireroads before, I've never run into a cop that was willing to be that big a dick about the regs on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. :D
