That's for the trailer as pictured with the active suspension, front tongue box, lid, etc. & HD construction. The base box starts at around $2,500.00. JSYK I am not affiliated with AT...but having seen their trailers in various stages of production at their manufacturing plant in LA area they are not simply a military surplus trailer copy/repro.
Like so many things it really comes down to how and where you will use it...

Oh yeah, I understand that. It still seems to be a lot of money when the materials and labor are all added up. I Realize that the trailer pictures has all sorts of gingerbread. And I still don't see how that sort of price is justified.
I'd be curious what the demographics of their customer base looks like. I'm thinking lots of disposable income and not much hands on wrenching/fabbing experience.
I don't build trailers. Not routinely. Not enough market to stay busy doing it and I've got more Cruiser work than I can keep up with. But there is nothing unique about the materials or the work involved in making a trailer.
As it happens I'm about halfway through a 8.5x12 flatbed on a one ton Dodge Dually construction truck at the moment. The friend/company that talked me into doing is now trying to talk me into doing a couple more. They don't seem to understand that I agreed to do this one as a favor and that I have other priorities (CRUISERS!!!) regardless of how much they are willing to pay me to do them.
I've built a couple of small trailers (M416 size/style) over the years, but it is not something I spend much time on.
Same place I bought my 3500# Straight custom width with e-brakes and 6 on 5.5 for a smoking deal. Randy was excellent to deal with. I got that and stake pockets, chain kit, Spring kit and shipped to my door(AL to NM) for $300. No one could touch that price.
Have you considered the old pickup bed conversion? Buy a pickup at a junkyard, chop in half, weld in a towbar and hitch, wire the tail lights, and you're in business. Example #1 & Example #2
If I can make one inexpensively enough, I'm kicking around the idea of doing this with an SOA conversion and electric brakes.
Build your own axle, use spindles and hubs with disks off of a spair front cruiser diff, bolt them to round plates that weld to your axle add spring perches.
I run a locking hub on one side and a blank on the other, unspung spair parts for the Cruiser.
I just emailed them to find out a cost. I have looked at their site several times. Curiousity finally got the best of me. I'll post what I find out.
