Planning to check the boy out at noon Wednesday, I'll be in front of the school with 80 on the trailer and all the gear loaded up jamming to some SCC tunes ready to fire out of there ;)

What are SCC tunes?

I have 4 or 5 CD's the Cottonland crew put together and gave away in their drivers bags over the years along with a few Matt Stell CD's ripped to my iPhone and SCC Playlist (SCC Tunes) It's my favored wheeling and road trip music ;)

Fluids in front/rear difs, engine oil changed, drive shafts greased. Holes in fiberglass hard top filled in with silicone :D front knuckles re torqued. I could tinker with it for a year and it would never be done, but it should hold together for a few miles on some awesome trails with good friends ! Lets go wheeling

Awesome... Hopefully I won't be far behind you!

It's a miracle that Paul is not working on anything that is going to SCC! He usually has some major thing he is putting together! BUT not this time (so far)

Glad to hear Albert looking forward to hitting the trails again with you  I wish you safe travels and we'll see you up there I heard you were going to make a week long trip of the outing that's going to be a great time not to mention the new tow rig will make the trip very comfy :D

That's great to hear Ms Jean I'm glad he bucked the trend, I find myself in the same rut I'm usually in cramming everything in last minute but its nothing new and in some way I guess it makes the trip get here that much faster staying busy until its time to leave :meh:

How awesome would some 70 degree days and 40/50 degree nights be :D  perfect wheeling and camping weather  The rain this week should keep the dust down to a minimum.

Weather.webp

That would be sweet. This morning Weather.com was calling for a lot of rain on Fri while we are there. It has already changed. Really looking forward to this trip......for many reasons. :D

Good hopefully the outlook stays and same here certainly gonna be another great trip :)

Hey folks,

Being new to this kind of outing, is there anything I need to be sure I have for this trip? I know everyone will probably say I need a CB radio, is this for sure necessary before I go out and get one? Anyone have any recommended systems without spending a ton, since it's short notice?

Oh, and I'm planning on heading up Thursday morning.

Thanks,

Todd

not necessary but handy
as far as rec go to each his own but for ease of mount & space considerations hard to beat COBRA 75WXST
Amazon for under $90.

No I don't think so bud, being that you drive that sweet new FJC you won't need to carry parts, tools, fluids and all the extra stuff some of us carry not that we'll need it but there is always the time you need it and don't bring it. Besides your camping or sleeping arrangement needs and a variety of clothes there is a Walmart close by for anything you forgot. The CB is not required but nice to have for communication with the others. We don't fly through the trails but rather enjoy them and move along together so no one is left behind. You won't have to worry about getting lost with our group and we work well as a team where needed. Your going to have an awesome time :)

just bring beer

we connect the cans with strings.. adds a whole new level to driving skill ; )

I'll put together a list of cell numbers for the members who are going and maybe Ms Jean can email it to those going so you can save it to your phones :)

I have a set of battery powered cb radios. I don't remember if they pick up other cb traffic or just work with the two units. Anyone know?

If you are talking about the Motorola Talkabout type radios, then the answer is no. They operate on the UHF band, not the Citizen's Band (CB).
