I take that you don't get the sub tank as standard on the US cruisers.
Just got home from work and noticed the fuel price at the local servo was $1.16 per litre thats $110.00 for a tank of deisel. What is the price in the US per litre or gallon???

About $2.50 per gallon or .66 per liter.

Whats the advantage of having an aux. tank as oppose to the MAF 38gallon tank?

OEM fit vs aftermarket fit. In our case the vehicle needs to be modified to accept either. In the case of the 38 gallon replacement you will need to fabricate a drop bracket for the sending unit and fuel pump. In addition the float is not as accurate regarding fuel level. Also the break-over angle is changed as the replacement tank hangs down quite a bit further than stock.
I have also heard of at least one that made a burping or gurgling noise on a regular basis.
Of course the sub is not a 1 banana job either.......

...unless you are Paris Hilton.

By the way Aussie petrol is around $A.95/litre, so about $A3.50/US gallon or US$2.70 gallon (just under two cents a shot glass)

I think that would be worth it for a Skyline GT-R... :grinpimp:

No, not the GT-R. Mine was short 1 turbo (r32 GT-ST), but was more or less the same thing looks wise. Cool car, but not as great as some people here think they are. I broke u-joints and had steering problems on a regular basis. I drove an old 60s box-type GT-R once. That was kind of cool.

Here in Venezuela we don´t have the problem about the cost of filling the gas tanks of our LC, 97 octane unleaded gas 4 cents, 91 octane leaded gas 3.5 cents, what about that? :flipoff2:

For almost $800, I think I will just stop at gas stations more

Hold that thought when you coast to a stop when you are 40 miles from the blacktop......... :o

thats one thing I miss when in USA is nice strong beer, tis hard to find, I only fall over here in the UK after a beer .....Hic....Hic yes your right about the cameras over here, but it does lead to a safer place to live, talking about cameras, on the way to work the other evening, I was doing 110mph behind a small car with spotty teenagers in it, next thing I know, a plain police car with its lights flashing behind me.... f k, f k, f k, was what I said, indicated over expecting the worst, and they past me, they were after the car with the spotty teenagers, I just hope they didnt have a camera in their car, I will have to wait and see if I get a letter on the doorstep in a week of so.

Another advantage to the extra fuel tank in Queensland (don't know if this is representative of the rest of OZ) is that petrol prices are typically ten percent higher on the weekend. There is no greater feeling than seeing the low fuel light come on on Friday, and hitting the sub fuel tank button instead of pulling over to pay tourist prices to fill up :D

Chirsto got some 44 gallon long ranger tanks serveral years ago. i put one in and now can tote about 68.5 gallons with useable being about 66 gallons. yes a pain to fill, but it is great to pass all the high price gas stations along the way. The tank has paid for it self already. I recently went from Albq NM to Navajo lake then to denver on one fill, with fuel left over. Know I would of paid almost 30 cent a gallon more if I did not have my tank. I have had this tank in 2 trucks now and well over 140k miles. I would not own a crusier with out a aux tank. I do not think the replacement is the way to go, it in the long run is more costly then a Aux tank. later robbie

Having an aux tank is a luxury that has been worth every bit of the PITA it was to get it installed, especially when you are a very long way from the pavement... and the OEM aux tank creates no ground clearance issues, which speaks for itself.

Approx 13.5 useable gallons may not seem like a lot, but for expeditionary style wheeling, it's a must, IMO.

Cheers, R -

i had no idea the light comes on with 5 gallons still left.

that's like 60+ miles left to go!!!!!

i've been fooled for an entire YEAR!!!

snowwolf...do you watch top gear? ( a little OT but i wanted to know)
