For sale is my 1972 Toyota FJ40 with the F155 gasoline engine and a 3 speed floor shift manual transmission.

I bought the truck in April of 2018 in Cranbrook British Columbia Canada and hauled it home with my trusty dodge on a U-haul car trailer. it did run when i bought it but only barely enough to crawl on the trailer.

after i got it home i changed the fluids, gave it a quick tune-up and cleaned it up. it ran and drove quite well and i actually took it on a 300 mile trip to buy a front winch bumper that i installed.

it was bought new at Kimbrook motors in Cranbrook B.C. and had spent it's whole life in the kootenays. it was used for backcountry hunting, fishing and that sort of thing. it has a very extensive service record for the first decade and then after that the previous owners performed their own service work.

the mileage sits at 62,454 miles / or 100,000 kms. that is accurate as far as i can tell from the records. it does have a few rust spots; under the front fenders on the brace, and the rear lift door is pretty bad. it still has the drop down seats and the rear rubber mat and rear heater.

i removed the intake and exhaust manifolds, cleaned them up and got all the correct bolts and nuts from Specter Off Road in California. in that process i snapped off the forward main head bolt because i wanted to remove the air cleaner assembly. i installed a proper toyota gasket again from Specter and bought 2 new head bolts. so that's all done. i cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor and installed new ignition points. it is 1972 CARB compliant so the little 'computer' manifold on the left fender decides which unburned gasses go where. i also got all new coolant hoses, thermostat, and gaskets from Specter and a pile of odds and ends.

i had originally planned to swap a diesel into it but once i realized how much work that would be and what a shame it would be to destroy such a good old girl i decided not to.

i am heading to Alaska/Yukon/BC next summer in my RV and i have decided to let this go to a better home where it will be better cared for and looked after well.

it can be driven and is currently licenced but the tires are sun rotted. you can drive it home if you're brave but if you have far to go i would recommend hauling it. i installed a Balderson electric winch with super heavy wire and a remote switch. original bumper still available. original rims still available.

i am asking 10,000 $ Canadian.

let me know if you're interested. thanks.
