My rig has OME AND HIGH STEER. STill working on the bumpstops and the pitman arm but it works fine.

That is one HECK of a notch! Wow!

And re the bent drag link....I'd personally be wary of running that as it will likely exhibit a huge amount of flex. Any rod like that (especially a round non stabilized one) will exhibit a huge amount of flex when it is not perfectly strait...look up Euler's law, essentially has to do with predictability of when a straight rod will bend due to force applied parallel to the axis of the rod (plus a bunch of other related stuff). Essentially the rod will withstand a far greater force if straight than if even slightly bent, and once the force required to bend the straight rod is reached, it will immediately bend a great deal, but up until that point it well only flex a very tiny amount, returning to it's original straight shape one force is removed.

Basically, that bent rod will take hardly any force compared to a straight one before bending and well flex far more due to a far lower force

A low lift SAS is all about bumpstops. There is a build over on yotatech called the "great white shark build" or something similar, and the guy is running about 2-2.5" of lift with high steer. I spoke to the guy who did the work and after talking with him I am planning on using the FROR hanger kit ( seems to be the lowest at only 1" lift I think) and a set of 84-85 OME front springs which should net me about the same 2.5" which will sit nicely with a set of 33's. High steer will clear as long as I set the bumps up right. It will limit up travel to only a few inches, but honestly that is probably more than I have now with my IFS, and the droop will be much better.

If you want low you will definitely want to stay away from TG leaves, even their 3" packs have some crazy arch.

Whats up guys! Fresh out the whom as far as ih8mud. Alot of great info ever here too! Can anyone verify if this set up will work? The FROR hangers and 84-85 OME springs insted of the hand crafted springs? 2 year old post hoping someone has tried this and can confirm it does work. Ive read the entire "great white shark attack sas" thread and id love to get the same results. But if there was a bad success rate with those custom springs he had im looking for an alternative. Im building a 94 xtra cab similar to the shark build except he had the a 22re and ill have the 3.4. So the extra weight is also a concern. Any help or thoughts?

Hey man, I got your PM, and apologize for not getting back until now. I spoke to the guy that had those custom packs made and as of my conversation a couple years ago, the guy in that build thread was the only one that hadn't broken them. He told me that they used the OME early leaf packs for all their conversions. I have not gotten around to doing this yet, but still have It on my to do list. The OME can also be had with a HD leaf to help with the added weight. There is also another thread about guys using RUF to get the front lift. As mentioned in that thread, getting the proper spring rate is pretty important to having a good ride.

Keep us posted on your progress.
