Home brew sand tracks

Hi all,

Here is a pic of my home brew sand tracks. As I said before they cost about 5 bucks from the local recovery yard. I cut them up from a plastic (nylon I think) pallet. I haven't tested them yet but I hope they will get me out of trouble if needed. Size is about 30cm x 120cm.

Maxtrax would be the way to go but I think I'll save up for a rear locker then do the front locker too.

I'm heading down the coast on Friday to do some beach driving. I'm hoping I don't get bogged in the sand. If I have to use the home made sand ladders I'll let you all know how they go.

Cheers.

I don't think sand ladders would be worthwhile for me unless they could double as bridging ladders. In fact I've been considering getting a couple of short sections of landing mat for use on tech trails rather than stacking rocks.

Rock stacking gets old and is frowned upon on most technical trails. There are a lot of situations where you can get a truck over and obstacle with just a little ramp to stop the wheels from dropping into a hole dug in front of a ledge by the big rubber guys.
