This is exactly what I want.
However, I don't happen to have an extra $925 + S&H laying around.

I wish Yesco wasn't so picky about their scrap steel, they have almost everything I need laying around in their fab yard across the street.

Anybody have any ideas?

I haven't gone there yet but need to soon...there is a business that is in a house that sits on a couple acres at Coney Island Drive just west of McCarran. I have been told he sells scrap/short pieces.

I have exactly that carrier. It's really great and has survived at least 10 Rubicons and a few Dusy runs and still looks and works like new.

I'm thinking you have some dusty credit cards in your wallet-get one out, and presto, you have just what you want.:D

Holy crap that is a NICE looking bumper!
I typically cruise the ornamental iron shops!
The road that "totally off road" is on...If you took that going EAST, down about a block, on your left hand side there is one of these shops, and they have always been really good about letting me pick through the scrap bins...
They might even sell you some of their "good" stock...
Ive just always looked for screw around pieces to practice with.
Its worth asking at least!

Aside from that, Id be interested in knowing where to buy some good material from!

BTW, Rusty,
I have some material sitting in the garage...
What specifically are you looking for?
I might be able to help some, at least!

Not sure what thickness but I have a bunch of 2' square pieces I found in the desert.

No I pretty much warmed them all up during the first part of the build.
Maybe I'll get a look at your 40 on Friday? You have a PM

Right now I'm thinking three 8" sections of 1/4" X 4" angle. A couple of pieces of 2"X3" .125 wall rec tube about 4', and a few feet of 2" .125 wall square stock. Then whatever it takes to make up the cooler rack. I'm sure I'll have to buy the pivots and latches.

Well you May be in Luck Dan as i have some decent square tube and happen to have lots of axles floating around you could use the spindles off them for pivots.OH and Dan Straight i have alot of 3/8 inch plate around as well you guys let me know what you need for sure or come on down to Fallabama and see what i have you can use and we'll go from there i promise a screamin deal

Dan :cheers::bounce::bounce2::bounce::beer:

Keith,
I need:
1 piece: 3/8" x 2"x 10" &
2 pieces: 3/8" x 1" x 12".

Is this close to what you have?

Thanks,
Dan

This is really close to what I want, I don't care about a removable basket. I was thinking of using the extra space for two jerry cans and my CO2 jug. Orrrr:idea: Jerry cans/CO2 on the bottom and a cooler rack on top!
Edit:of course that would totally block rear visability.
