2001 LC. Had shop install 2 inch Ironman lift kit along with differential drop. Fine for few months then started hearing some light knocking. Took in and thought to be CV axles worn. Replaced and still had knocking sound only on takeoff then gone once over 5 or 10 mph. Kinda went away then until recently then heard thunking and stopped car/ got towed home. Grease splattered out all on driver side CA and wheel well.

I had raised torsion bars before lift install, then lowered back down as ride was too rough. I'm showing right at 23.5 inches hub to fender . Are others near the same? Trying to figure out if something is off on install as the CV angle has always looked extreme still even with diff drop.

23.5" hub to fender on front?
If so, that's WAY too much. I'm at 22.25" and I'm .375" over maximum recommended (21.875").
At 23.5" You probably have zero down travel.

I have Slee diff drop, SPC UCAs and CVJ high angle CV's.
So if you're running OEM UCA's then the problem is compounded further.

How are they even aligning that set-up? Doesn't seem like they could even get within proper parameters.

BTW, pics aren't showing for me.

I had a problem with grease weeping past the boot (not lifted as much as you). I use worm-drive clamps on the boots. What helped me keep the grease in the boots without cranking down the clamps (and causing boots to rip) was to press the boot a bit to expel some air before final clamping. This has worked to far. I also rarely exceed 75mph, and try to keep it at 70

If I had to do it over again, I would install teh part time kit.
