Any takers for a run into shanigan this sunday. This will be a true offroad run, no faint of heart people. I was thinking of going up chets crack and other old goodies. Meet at mill bay timmies at 930.

Jay

I'm in..... got some new tires to try out.:)

Still open in the diff. dept. though... guess I could blow into the 1/4" lines.

Aren't we doin Copper Canyon... then to Ryan's??

Don't think this is an excuese to copp out there Ryan..... You are commin!!! Get that sway bar off and lock the hubs! ;)

So, you're sayin I'd have to drive all the way to shawnigan????

And s***, I already bought the beer.... guess I'll have to drink it myself.....:flipoff2:

seriously tho, my truck isnt' up to anything intense, I need the old bitch for work, so if this a Jay rated " no pansies" trail, the 70 is stayin home, simple as that.

I'd take a passenger seat I guess.

lemme know what the final plan is.

Well for those who dont know Chets crack was a goodie back in the day but now it has been run by full size trucks it is a little wider. The last time I was there we had a stock jeep and fj40 make it. Also to set the record straight I haven't done anything crazier than the next guy plus I too always need my truck for a commuter. In my opinion of wheeling is something that can challenge you as a driver, see places no one else goes, and may get the heart pumping, not follow a logging road. Wow I am burnt out from typing all this. Hey Cam rig up an air valve on your rear locker and I can air you up or use an air tank, run the lines inside the cab if you can

Yep, I hear ya, I just have to keep my old 70 looking pretty for a while yet, otherwise I'll have to park it a half mile down the road and walk to work...

Wheeling the lumpy stuff is definately more fun, once I find an appropriate body for a swap I'll be down for aquiring some dents...

Your truck looks better with dents, mine needs to remain all princess like ...

Rob, that'd probably work. Just heard I have to build a big aluminum transducer pole whizjammer for monday, so I'm going to try to get that done on sat so I have the day free.

Dang scientists, deciding last minute they need new equipment so they can f up a dudes weekend...

chets isnt anything crazy....we took a stock HJ60 up there as well....

The wheel base on a 60 does make life easier with big rocky climbs, 80s even better with the coil thingys....

So what's the final word here? Chets or Copper? I dont think we will talk Andrew into another day scratching and "A-hole puckering" but if he came to Chets he could hop in with me. Is Copper canyon out at this point? Ive never been to either.

Cam

You guys go ahead, it's starting to look like I have to cancel either plan... my cousin from Ontario is coming for (1) day in Victoria to visit on... you guessed it, Sunday.

Take lots of pics... I want to feel like I am there! :D

Cam - I still want to hit up Copper Canyon, and considering the run should be fairly easy, maybe we could head out one evening during the week? Does that work for you at all? Raymond really wants to join us but he has Wed/Thurs off (I think)

s*** guys, I suck, but I'm not going to be able to finish this transducer mount thing today, and I have to have it done by monday, that's when scientific uber nerd heads down to the states to do a salmon tracking mission.

So I'm out. It's not because of the run getting more difficult, that's cool, I'd have got Rob to grab me on the way by and ridden bitch, but I have to work.

I'll be sucking up aluminum fumes and sweating me yichees off in the shop all day...:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

What a great run Cam and Vern! We went to weeks lake for lunch then up to Chets and what a view at the top.
