rubber plug on the brake pedal went bad!

well just to let you guys know, if suddenly your brake lights stay on, there is a rubber plug that the switch hits on the brake pedal, and for some reason, after 27 years my brake switch just punched a hole right through it

so i have it fixed now, i used a flat head 10 24 bolt, with nylon lock washer.
tried to replace it with another rubber-plug off my 87, but i pulled the end off trying to install it.

It's the basic and obvious stuff that get's to us these days it seems? We're getting old(er) or what here? We miss the stupid stuff a ton lately.
