Morning guys, the PO on my Runner (got to love thise bastards) stripped off the 10mm alternator tensioner nut. Vice grips and lots of WD40 couldn't get it off. Any ideas? Not much working room in there.

Irwin makes sockets that remove striped or rounded bolts. Autozone and home depot sell them.

I have a set of Craftsman Bolt Out sockets that work pretty good. You smack them on with a hammer first so they grab good.
they probably are the same as the Irwins , though with mine as long as you apply forc to them they will grab.

Yeah, there's really NO room to hammer anything down there. Are the Irwins SAE and metric specific?
no they are not, one set will tell you what size they will remove. i had to use them to get the crank pulley bolt out.

Grab a grade 8 bolt and a wire feed welder. Weld the nut to the end, or just buy a single craptastic socket and do similarly, weld it on and wrench it off.
