Which route are you going to take to add a little more lift to fit the 35s? I'm waffling about what suspension to upgrade to and whether to go with 33s or 35s. It would be great to hear your experience.

Thanks again,
Chad

Hi Chad,

I'm thinking about taking the easy route - extended shakles. I only need another 1-1.5" I need new shakles anyway. I'll add a wee bit of body lift if I have to, but would rather not.

Did you put your rear heater somewhere else or do you just not have one? Could you post a pic of the bases? How does the bottom of the seat interact with the dampener? These sound like such a great idea.

 Chad

I just removed the rear heater for now. The climate is pretty mild here. One day I might stick it on the ceiling in the back or get an RV heat exchanger/fan to put back there.

I'll get pics.

I had to remove the seat mounting backets from the seat, cut the sliders from the brackets, weld the sliders to some custom fabbed metal, and bolt it all back together. Fortunately the suspension bases bolt right in to the floor. They use a different set of holes.

Hey thanks, I appreciate it. I talked with G&S and they said that they have only ever found one pair, which is the pair you apparently have. I wonder how easy they would be to make... Anyways. Your cruiser is great. Thanks for all the write-up.

nice eh, any complaints/ regrets/ etc w/the diesel? I mean, dont see why you would.
cheers

Oil and filter changes are a bit pricey. Otherwise, no complaints.

I love it!

EDIT: I thought of one more thing I don't like. After changing the oil for the second time last night, I remember how much I hate it. The oil comes out of the oil pan with so much force that it splashes out of my drain pan and douches me and nearly the whole driveway. What a mess! This engine holds two gallons of oil!

It's actually 12V. The only part I had to change was the glowscreen. I traded with a guy from the Bay Area who was putting a 12V Australian 12H-T into a 24V HJ-60. The alt was rebuilt by G&S to 12V. The starter I bought on ebay. It came from an Aussie HJ-60.

My two batteries are in parallel when I bridge them with the relay on the passenger side fender.

I love the rig man... hope to see you out on the trails one of these days!

Thanks. I hope so too. Dogboy2 and I are supposed to run Powerline at some point before our weather turns to crap.

Count me in on your next run. Our rigs are build similar so a Powerline run would be great.
