Nice, very nice. I suspect that you have the same level of dedication and commitment with your studies.

I tried to read all the posts, but may have missed it, nevertheless, is your spare the same size as your other tires? If not, that would be my next priority if I were you because if its not and you have to use it, you may cause alot of damage to your driveline.

Lastly, it seems to me your sister might not be getting your cruiser.

Well, I told Brandon I'd keep him updated on his truck, and what better place than his ROTW thread.

Last year, after he got his 80 back from Proffitt's Cruisers doing the Cummins mod, Brandon decided to go another direction in cruiserdom, and bought his 80.

So, I got the 80 with the 4BTA already in it

So, I went to work making it mine. Did a front end re-built, bearings, seals, new 100 series pads, and rotors all the way around cuz they were warped from sitting at Proffitt's so long. Put a new, bigger 1HC turbo on, cuz the bearings crapped out on the one that was on it. Tweaked the timing, re-adjusted the valves and whe runs great, loud, but great.

Pulled the ARB off and put Junk's old Slee bumper off my other 80 before I sold it and did Landspeeder's mod to accomodate the Warn 8274 that I took off the 40. Took a little cutting, but it turned out real nice

Since I had to cut the light tab off the right side, I used the other tab to hook up a little 2ft antenna for a secondary for the CB. Started re-wiring things, moved the CB to the other side and hooked up the Boost and Pyro in a gauge pod down low and out of the way.

Since I have the Tacoma as the DD and the 40 is in the garage torn apart, I decided to use the 80 and my camping truck. So, I started off with getting a rack and RTT from Camping lab while Fernando had his pre-order deal going with free shipping on the rack and RTT. Sits nice, easy to open and isn't too bad on the CG, but I'll see next time I take it to Uwharrie:grinpimp:

The rear shelf system that Brandon put in is real nice fot stashing all my crap. So, I could fit 2 tool boxes, the CO2 tank, misc fluids, HiLift, lawn chairs, and other misc goodies. I put the ARB 63qt Fridge I got from Reffug up on top of it, likda slim on room but I'l eventually going to shorten up the lecs of the shelf and add a fridge slide to make it a little more accessable.

And since I don't carry passengers very often, I pulled the PS rear seat for more room to store crap. I have a tool box and storage case in there right now, but I'm going to extend the shelf forward to the back of the PS front seat for more flat space up top, and a locklable cubby hole eventually.

Upcoming projects

1. Sliders. The Stubbs weld on sliders are great, but they are corroded pretty bad from being up north, so I'm going to cut them off and I have a line on a set of Hannah sliders from a local cruiser guy, and those will go on.

2. Rear bumper. Junk's one off rear bumper is great, but like the sliders has the cancer pretty bad. Thankfully it's all surface corrosion, so I'm pulling it off, getting it blasted and either POR or RB the thing. Also, I may have IPOR make me a swing out on the PS for a cooler/can rack or bolt on the 4x4 Labs little ladder thingy.

3. Line-X. Since I'll be cutting off the sliders and have the rear bumper off for a while, i'll take that opportunity to re-line-x the flare area, and line-x the lower areas of the truck, especially the rocker panels. Brandon beat those up pretty good before he armored up.

4. Steering and suspension. New TREs, shocks and eventually the Comp 4" OME springs from Kurt. BudBuilt tie rod and relay rod. New rear upper and lower control rods from Slee.

5. Corrosion control. I'll be hitting frame and body areas with the brush, brimer and RB. Replacing corroded hardware, nuts and bolts

6. Interior electronics. New speakers and such. Troubleshoot a dorked up fuel gauge, keeps crapping out. Ditch the Optima and get new batts (prolly sears/odessy)

7. Get the injector pump rebuilt. It's getting close to the recommended mileage, and thankfully the Bosch VE Rotary pumps are easy to re-build.

Never ends:grinpimp:

Seen this rig in person and it is great.

Thanks Al. Wish I could have made it to the last couple of rides and meets, but we are so short handed with qualified pilots that I'm on duty almost every weekend:frown:

So after CMCC and driving the 80 for a little over a year, i was tired of the stock front bumper. I was on my 3rd front bumper, as a deer and previous fender bender had eaten up two.

After working a little more, and saving some $$$, i ordered an ARB winch bumper.

What beach were you on???

Carova/Swan Beach - Northern OBX

It's nice to see that cruiser is still going strong. Next time i'm in your neck of the woods (or vice versa), we need to get together so I can see how the new turbo is doing.

There is NO comparison for the torque the 4bt puts down when the truck is in 4 lo. I miss it a lot!

Continuing along with the Mods. I have added 1973Guppie's rack and barrier system to the 80. Brandon's wood shelf system got de-constructed and the rack went in.

I also got one of the WagonGear tailgate lids, even more storage room:grinpimp:

So, now that the rack is in, I've moved onto Landcruiser Beautification:grinpimp:

I have ordered a set of Aatlas1x's seather seat covers, steering wheel, leather shifter, and from CDan I have a new seat cushion, and new switch bezels to clean everything up and make it lookie nice:p

New steering wheel came in the mail via the FedEx guy this afternoon

Shifter in the same box too

I also bought the fuse and relay box from slcfj62, now I can get the lights and fridge all running.

Shane will have the 1st and 2nd row seat covers done in a week and change, and they'll be getting installed as soon as the seat cushion gets here.

I also got a set of new TREs from Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters and am ordering the TRE and Relay Rod from BudBuilt here in a week or so. My 40 is getting jealous from all the attention the 80 is getting:grinpimp:

plz take a before and after pic of your dash. I am jealous. I want to do the same thing with a new wood grain or possibly carbon fiber dash kit.

I am actually replacing some of the old wood grain stuff back to the OEM grey and black:grinpimp:

I'm replacing all 4 door switch bezels and the console area where the shifter is, the wood grain stuff that is on there is pretty beat and faded and won't peel off. So, new plastic is going on

Where are you buying the new dash parts?

It's a labor of love:grinpimp:

The front and rear bumpers will be coming off soon to get re-powdercoated, and I'll eventually get around to stripping the sliders and PORing them. Might even be up in your neck of the woods in a few weeks, ONSC is doing a ride up to Sherando Lake.
